Who We Are

We Are The Factory, And We Are Down The Road

SVN Diamonds supplies lab-grown diamond and gold jewellery to independent jewellers and retail groups across Australia. We are based in Melbourne, we hold our own stock here, and we sell to the trade only, never to your customers.

What makes that work is the second half of the business: our own family factory inside the Surat Special Economic Zone, three generations deep in diamond manufacturing. There is no importer and no agent between you and the bench, which is why a change to a design is a normal conversation rather than a special request.

Our stock is held here in Melbourne, not sitting in a factory waiting on an order. A stock piece leaves us in one to two days: not the six weeks an overseas order takes, and not the margin an importer takes out of it on the way.

Lab-grown diamond and gold throughout. Every design carries a reference and, where we have one, a written specification, so what you order is what arrives, and what arrives is what you can re-order next season without a conversation about substitutions.

The Full Catalogue

Browse every design online, then ask for the whole collection as a printable PDF with references and specifications. We send the PDF to trade buyers rather than publishing it here: the pieces on it are the pieces you would be retailing, and they should not be sitting on an open web page next to your own shop window. Apply for a trade account and tick “send me the catalogue”, or ask for it directly.

For Jewellers Who Already Buy From A Distributor

Adding A Second Supplier?

Most jewellers already have a distributor or importer for brands. This is how a factory-direct supplier differs, side by side. Where a distributor’s terms vary we say so rather than guess; the right-hand column is only what we publish ourselves.

When a distributor is the better choice

For established brand ranges your customers ask for by name, for buying many brands on one account, and for a warehouse in your own state when same-day delivery matters. We do not claim to replace any of that.

Use both

SVN is the factory-direct second source for the diamond and gold shelf: studs, tennis, pendants, bands and custom work. Keep your brand supplier for brands. Add us where making it ourselves changes the terms.

From The Collection

What The Work Looks Like

Twelve designs from the current collection, shown in studio photographs. Beyond the collection we manufacture to specification in lab-grown diamond, with metal, carat range, packaging and branding set by you and delivered under your name. Metal, carat and finish are confirmed on your quote.

Our Craft

What Actually Happens Before a Piece Reaches You

You already know what a jewellery floor looks like — you don't need another supplier telling you they're "premium" or "trusted." What you need to know is whether we actually run the process properly. So here's the honest version, stage by stage, of what happens to a piece between your spec sheet and your shelf.

01

Stone & Metal Selection

Every run starts with matching stones and metal to your spec sheet, not ours — carat range, clarity tier and metal purity signed off before a single piece is cut.

02

Diamond Cutting & Polishing

Before any design work begins, the selected rough stone goes through the standard cutting process every diamond passes through on its way to being set:

  • Planning. Mapping the rough stone with computer analysis to find the shape that yields the best result.
  • Cleaving or Sawing. Splitting the stone along its plan using lasers or precision blades.
  • Bruting / Shaping. Grinding the edges to establish the base form of the cut.
  • Faceting & Polishing. Adding the flat, reflective facets and bringing them to a mirror finish.
03

CAD & Sample Approval

A 3D CAD render and then a physical sample come before production, not after. You see and hold the piece — weight, proportions, prong placement — while it still costs nothing to change.

04

Casting & Shaping

Lost-wax casting from the approved CAD, then hand-finishing to true the shape — the same base process any serious manufacturer runs, done to the tolerances your sample already set.

05

Diamond Setting

The step where most quality problems actually happen: prong, pavé or bezel, set by hand and checked for security under magnification. From there the piece moves to a final polishing pass — tumbling and hand polishing for the base shine, rhodium plating where the metal calls for it, and a last inspection for symmetry and surface finish.

06

Quality Check & Export Packing

Every piece checked against the approved sample — stone security, prong height, finish — before it’s packed for export. What leaves the facility is what you signed off on, not a best effort.

The Factory Behind The Stock

Why We Can Quote Like This

The stock in Melbourne does not come from a wholesaler. It comes off our own bench, inside the Surat Special Economic Zone — the same cutting, setting and finishing infrastructure the world's diamond trade has run on for generations, not adjacent to it. That is the whole reason there is no importer's margin in our price, and the reason a change to a design costs a phone call rather than a new supplier.

We won't ask you to take our scale on faith; we'd rather point to the industry we work inside of. Surat's diamond-cutting trade runs deep, and it isn't ours to claim — it's the establishment the rest of the world's diamond trade measures itself against:

~90%

Of the world’s polished diamonds, by volume, are cut and polished in Surat

75–80%

Share of world polished diamond export value that India — overwhelmingly via Surat — accounts for

12,000+

Diamond cutting and polishing units operating within Surat

Figures per industry sources (worldmetrics.org, the Israeli Diamond Industry's coverage of Surat, and Natural Diamonds' reporting on the region) — regional industry statistics, not a claim about SVN Diamonds' own size. SVN Diamonds operates from inside that ecosystem, drawing on the same cutting, setting and export infrastructure it supports.

Cutting & Setting

In-house cutting and stone-setting workflows for lab-grown diamond, run to hold their tolerances across an entire order — not just the sample piece.

Private Label & Custom

We will produce under your brand, packaging and specification — or adapt a piece from the collection. Custom runs start at five per design and take two to three weeks.

Casting & Bench Overflow

Because we are the factory rather than a stockist, we can also take casting, semi-mounts and overflow bench work — useful if your own workshop is at capacity rather than short of stock.

Quality & Ethical Sourcing

Documentation And A Factory Visit, Not Just A Claim

We take sourcing and compliance seriously, and we know a claim on a website means little without paperwork behind it. Certification and compliance documentation relevant to your order is available on request, and we're open to a factory visit before you commit to any volume — see the process, meet the people cutting and setting the pieces.

Quality control runs at every stage of production, from stone selection through final polish, so what leaves our facility matches what was agreed at sampling stage. Consistency across a production run is the thing retail partners actually need from a manufacturer — not a one-off showpiece.

Certifications & Compliance

Where We Stand, Documented Honestly

We'd rather show you exactly where each certification stands today than print a row of logos and hope nobody asks. Here's what each standard actually covers, and the current, factual status of SVN's own documentation against it — anything marked "on request" is ready to send as soon as you need it.

Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC)

An international standards body for the jewellery and watch industry. Its Code of Practices sets requirements across the supply chain covering business ethics, human rights, labour rights, environmental performance and management systems.

Code of Practices documentation available on request.

Kimberley Process Certification Scheme

An intergovernmental scheme, backed by industry and civil society, that certifies rough diamond shipments as conflict-free and requires each shipment to travel in a tamper-resistant container with a government-issued certificate.

Applies to rough natural diamond only, so it does not apply to our lab-grown stock.

SEDEX / SMETA Ethical Audit

SEDEX is a data platform for supply-chain ethical performance; SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) is the audit methodology run against it, assessing labour standards, health & safety, environmental practice and business ethics on-site.

In progress.

Gemological Certification (IGI / GIA)

IGI (International Gemological Institute) and GIA (Gemological Institute of America) are independent laboratories that grade a finished diamond’s cut, colour, clarity and carat weight and issue an independent grading report against those standards.

Available on finished pieces via IGI/GIA, on request.

How We Work

Staged Onboarding, No Blind Commitments

We won't hand you a client list, and we won't invent one — a retailer who can't verify a name we give them ends the conversation on the spot, and rightly so. What we offer instead is a structure that de-risks working with us before any trust has been built: you never move to the next stage until the last one has earned it.

01

Sample

We produce sample pieces to your specification so you can evaluate finish, fit and consistency before anything else is agreed.

02

Trial Order

A small trial order tests our production and delivery against real conditions — your side and ours — before scaling up.

03

Standing Volume

Once trust is established on both sides, we move to a standing supply arrangement — with an eventual target in the region of 500–1,000 units a month, built up in stages rather than promised upfront.

Trade Enquiry

Ask For The Catalogue, Or Just Ask

Tell us what you stock and we will send the full collection catalogue, a trade price list, or a sample on approval — whichever is actually useful. If something in the range is close but not quite right, say what you would change. That is a normal conversation for us, not a special request.
